Individual support for your relationships
Differences in attention, memory, sensory needs, or communication can turn into the same conflict again and again. In individual therapy we look at your side of it: what you need and how you want to respond. Some of what we might work on:
- Planning and household responsibilities that feel uneven
- Conversations that escalate or shut down
- Different needs for time together, space, stimulation, or rest
- A diagnosis or identity change that affects the relationship
- Differences in desire, intimacy, and sexual expectations
- Trust, boundaries, and changes in relationship agreements
What we do together
We might go back over a recent disagreement, find where it went wrong, and practice saying what you need more clearly. You might plan a conversation about who does what at home, or about a boundary, try it, and then tell me how it went.
Understanding a difference doesn’t make its impact disappear. We take your needs seriously and the other person’s point of view too, and we look at what’s yours to repair and what you can’t change for someone else.
Dating, breakups, and being single
You can work on relationships without being in one. You might be worn out by dating, tired of masking, getting over a breakup, or unsure what kind of connection you want.
That might mean noticing when you adapt to someone before deciding whether they’re a fit, practicing a difficult conversation, or working out what being single on your own terms looks like.
Different ways of being together
I work with people in monogamous, polyamorous, and open relationships. We can look at the agreements you have now or think through a change you’re considering. Your relationship doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.
My training
My clinical experience includes relationship and sex therapy. I’ve completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and I’m working toward a PhD in Human Sexuality, Sex Therapy Track, at Widener University. I don’t offer couples therapy at this time; partners can join some individual sessions.
Practical details
I have immediate openings for individual therapy. Sessions are 50 minutes and cost $195. You must be physically located in Pennsylvania during sessions. Use the free consult to ask whether individual work makes sense for your situation.
